Glasses are awesome fashion accessories, but sometimes people will make fun of you for wearing them. Here's how to stay cool.
Choose Eye Glasses. If your mom/dad has recommended something for you, don't be so fast to blow it off. Just because your parents like it, doesn't make it an instant "no". After all, they're the ones who can see them.Pick glasses that reflect your personality. Unique colors can look great on girls, while boys might look better in black glasses or rimless. Don't act any different because you have glasses. You're you, that's that.
Learn to like your glasses. A typical stereotype is "Girl/Boy with glasses is a geek". Ignore it. Glasses are so you can see clearly. They don't label you. Keep that in mind.Keep them in the best possible condition. Clean Your Glasses. Be careful not to drop them, get the frame or lenses scratched, and make sure you keep them clean, clean, CLEAN. Wash them daily, water will work perfectly if you're not sure about cleaners. Get a cool case to put your glasses in.
Don't let what anyone says bother you. If someone calls you a name or makes fun of you, brush it off. Who cares, right? If you look and feel great, they're obviously trying to hurt you in general, not just because you wear glasses.
Pick out glasses that go with almost everything. You don't want to wear a purple and white outfit with mustard yellow glasses, do you?
If you really dislike the way you look in your glasses, consider contacts. Remember they are harder to keep track of, though.
Try black glasses. They go with practicaly every outfit!
If you are a guy go with a thick, masculine frame but not too thick it will look clunky. Just so they do not look flimsy.
AND, even if someone says you look good in glasses they pick for you, don't get them if you don't want them. The point is to get something you feel comfortable in, and be content with.Although glasses make you look smart (as people say), you shouldn't act like a know-it-all. Even if it's seemingly a stupid thing to say, people get in the act.
Some people are just plain rude. There is nothing you can do about these people. Who cares what they say? If they're harshly bashing you just because you wear glasses, take a look at them. Make sure you don't put your glasses in places where they can get damaged ( the sofa)-chances are someone will sit on them or you wont be able to find them for a while.
